I am in the middle of an art crisis.
I've been going to an Art Collage with my latest drawings and sketches to show to an art professor. One of the tips they gave me was to be opened to criticism! Though the last time I visited was like in January. Even then I've noticed that I haven't been improving on anatomy, coloring, shading, ect. very much. Mostly because I don't know what to spend time improving on. I'm now a freshman in highschool. I get lots of work, I'm in marching band, and I play softball. There's a lot of commitments and responsibilities I need to keep up on, and when I do get the time to "practice" my art, I never know what to practice the most on.

So that's why I'm asking you, my followers:

  • What do you like about my art? What could I keep in my drawing style?
  • What doesn't appeal to most people and what could I improve on? Remember, you must explain why it isn't appealing to the eyes. And tips are very much appreciated!
  • Greater leveled artists, do you have any tips that could help me?

I won't get offended, unless it sounds like you're hating on my art without a reason, like for example:

"Your art is just anime."
Is it because of the big eyes?

"The way you draw a nose is too weird." Well what should I do to improve it?

"Your art looks fine!"
Well thanks, but I'd like to improve it as best as I can.

That isn't constructive criticism. Please give a brief explanation of your criticism on my art.

Here are the things I'm aware that could need some improving. Please extend the list if necessary.

  • Shading and Lighting
  • Coloring
  • Art Style
  • Anatomy
  • Lineart
  • Background
  • Neatness
